Winter Luncheon at the Blue Bonnet, Feb 23, 2008
Well Guys and Gals - we had a beautiful blue sky
(although a little coolish) Saturday morning February 23rd, as the
first of the season get-together of the WyCroc'ers. Our Winter
Luncheon was held at the Blue Bonnet Mexican restaurant on Broadway in
Denver . The group began to gather in the adjacent parking lot at
Sam's Club with members with and without cars. Bob Bragg came the
furthest (without his car) from Ft. Morgan. We had a total of 5
roadsters (3 2L's and 2 1600's) and three Z cars. John Over is still
working on the transplanted SR20DET so he drove his green 240Z. Ad
Hulse showed with his American Eagle '70 white 2L. Gary Lasater drove
his yellow '69 2L and his son AJ drove the (soon to be his) '70 white
and black 1600. Wayne Hill and his wife Ruth showed up topless with
their white '69 2L and Jeff Sheppard brought his black '68 1600. Jim
McGinnis also came without his blown engine 1600. Gordon Maness (our
photographer for the meet) showed up, but his cars are either snowed
in or in conversion process. Scott Scheeler showed without his still
in Georgia roadster, but after the Mitty it's own its way to Colorado
in time for the Parker Country Festival parade. (**Scott put together
the two part Datsun Roadster Book(tm) and brought along two sets he
sold).
From the Z car club we had Dan Bailin, John Bilodeau, Darrell Hoffman
and Rick Mraz (great to have the little brothers of the roadsters show
up). FYI - The WyCroc club has been invited to display our cars along
with the Z Car Club at Tynan's Nissan later this summer. Watch for
further details on this joint participation fun.
